As part of the Barnes Music Festival (this year celebrating its 10th anniversary), pianist Osman Tack performs a lunchtime recital of Stephen Dodgson’s Six Bagatelles: Set 2 (their first public performance) alongside Chopin’s 24 Preludes Op. 28. Dodgson’s intriguing bagatelles use combinations of words and music to paint vivid and distinct pictures. With roots in Bach’s Well-Tempered Klavier as well as the Spanish and African influences of Majorca, Chopin’s Preludes take us on a gothic journey of life and death.
Osman is studying for a Master’s at the Royal College of Music with Sofya Gulyak and Danny Driver, having recently completed a PhD at the University of Oxford. He has a love for teaching and collaborating with singers, instrumentalists, composers and dancers.
